Holistic Approach to Lyme Disease

The holistic approach to Lyme disease is to focus on natural means to boost the immune system and energy level and detoxify the body. The body’s immune system will then kill the invading microbes that trigger lyme disease. At the same time, detoxification will sweep out toxins from the body’s cells. All disease involves inflammation. Turmeric, curcumin, fish oil and flaxseed oil have great anti-inflammation properties and combat inflammation.

Organic and raw is best to maximize your absorption of the nutrients from these foods. So, focus on fresh salads and juices and lots of greens. Non-organic foods are often genetically modified and filled with chemical and heavy metal toxins. As a result, they cause inflammation.

It is important to avoid all processed, packaged and refined foods when healing. These manufactured foods often contain genetically modified foods and chemicals and heavy metals that cause cellular oxidation and inflammation. Also, processed, packaged and refined foods are acidic. You want an alkaline body when healing.

Drink only filtered water and green tea while healing. Also, water with fresh lemon or a little baking soda will help keep your body alkaline

Lyme disease is believed to be caused by bacteria from tick bite(s). To prevent lyme disease, cover your skin when you go into nature. Spray on your skin natural insect repellant. Manufactured insect repellants often contain toxic chemicals unless they are green and organic insect repellants. The chemicals you spray on yourself can get absorbed into your cells and trigger disease. There are many recipes for home made insect repellants. They normally include a solution mixed together with water in a spray bottle and one or more of the following: vinegar, rubbing alcohol, witch hazel and essential oil.
